Sciatica Pain

I have had a number of sciatica cases in the clinic over the last couple of years. Patients who suffer from this syndrome often report feeling the effects of sciatica on one side of the body.  A primary pain pattern of sciatica follows the pathway of the lower back and leg portion of the bladder channel 膀胱经, which passes through hamstring muscles, calves and enters into lateral side of foot. In addition, pain pattern can also be felt in the gluteal region near the pathway of gallbladder channel 胆经.  For those who experience strong symptoms in lower legs, they tend to feel more sensations in posterior-lateral region of calf muscle and possibly in an area below the lateral knee where acupuncture point GB34 YangLingQuan 阳陵泉 is located.  At last, I want to say that not all sciatica originates in the lumbar spine, a lot of it originates in the deep gluteal muscles, such as piriform.    If you suffers from sciatica, feel free to come in for a free 10-min consultation for a complete assessment.
